On September 30th, Purple Carrots pauses to observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day holds space for the survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities across Turtle Island — and it asks each of us to sit with the truth of that history as a step toward genuine reconciliation.
Every Child Matters is more than a phrase we wear on an orange shirt. It’s a commitment we try to live out year-round in our inclusive, participant-led programming: every young person who walks through our doors deserves to be seen, heard, and celebrated exactly as they are.
We’ll be closed on September 30th in observance. We encourage our community to take the day to learn, reflect, and support Indigenous-led organizations and educators doing this vital work.
